Arrests in drug crime operation

Police on the Isle of Man have made a number of arrests and seized drugs in operations in two areas of the island.

On Friday evening neighbourhood officers in Douglas and Onchan arrested several people on suspicion of supplying of controlled drugs.

A substantial quantity of Class A and Class C controlled drugs and cash was seized in two operations, police said.

A police spokesman said the operation was part of pro-active policing targeting drug crime.

He added: “Operations such as this are designed to send out a strong message to those involved in criminal activity and also to reassure the public that police will act on information in order to ensure that the island remains a safe place to live.”
