Dealer hides heroin in underpants
A man has been jailed for five years after being caught with £8,000 worth of heroin stuffed down his pants.
Nicky Mutch, 24, admitted dealing the drugs at the Holiday Inn Express in Perth, and elsewhere, in November.
Perth Sheriff Court was told police were called when Mutch refused to leave his hotel room after taking heroin.
When they managed to get in, they found £4,800 strewn across the room and drugs paraphernalia. The heroin was found later during a strip search.
‘Large sum’
Mutch’s mobile phone records also showed he had been dealing from the hotel room.
He said he was selling drugs to help clear thousands of pounds of debts.
Mutch, from Perth, also admitted failing to turn up at court in July.
Sheriff Michael Fletcher said: “The courts have said time and time again that the supply of controlled – and particularly class A – drugs will be treated very seriously indeed.
“This was the commercial supply of drugs involving a large sum of money and a large value of the drug. A substantial custodial sentence is appropriate.”
