Dumfries drugs operation arrests increase
The number of arrests made as a result of a major drugs operation in Dumfries has risen to 23.
Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary targeted a series of properties throughout the town during the three-day Operation Brandy last month.
Drugs with a street value of about £30,000 were recovered, including heroin, diazepam and cannabis.
A further £20,000 worth of stolen goods was also seized. Police said their inquiries were continuing.
About 50 officers were involved in the operation in various parts of Dumfries.
Police were advised about the anthrax risks of contaminated heroin before searching a number of properties.
