Nightclub closed after drug raids
Eleven people were arrested during a police crackdown on drug dealing at a nightclub in east London.
Territorial Support Group officers swooped on the Faces club in Gants Hill, Ilford, at 2315 BST on Thursday.
The raid was ordered amid reports cocaine and ecstasy had allegedly been bought “quite openly” at the club, a police statement said.
A quantity of class A drugs were seized during the operation and the club has been temporarily closed down.
The men arrested remain in custody at east London police stations.
Supt Bryan Horsley said: “Following intelligence we were able to establish that quantities of cocaine and ecstasy had been bought and sold quite openly at Faces nightclub.”
He said the operation will have a significant impact of the supply of Class A drugs in the Gants Hill area.
