Police arrest 23 in drugs raids

Police have arrested 23 people after cocaine and cannabis was seized in a series of raids in Basildon and London.
The properties were raided in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A spokesman for Essex Police said of the 23 people detained, 12 were arrested on suspicion of supplying a Class A controlled drug.
Six were arrested on suspicion of supplying stolen goods and five for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to supply.
Police said that so far 10 people have been charged and are due to appear before magistrates.
The other people are either still in custody or have been released on police bail to a later date.
