A court has heard how a tip off led to the recovery of drugs with a street value of £20,000 in Dumfries.
Brian Webber, 43, of the town’s Lime Tree Walk, admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin at various addresses earlier this year.
The court was told he had agreed to hold the drugs in order to wipe out a previous debt.
Sheriff Kenneth Ross pointed out Webber had just been released from a previous sentence and jailed him for four years.
He said he would have imposed a sentence of six years but took into account his early guilty plea.
